Thermocouple Replacement
Preparation
Disconnect and lockout the main power
Shut off the cooling water infeed and drain the unit
Draining Water
Drain all water using the drain plugs located at the bottom of the unit
Accessing the Thermocouple
Remove the unit’s top panel
Open the electrical enclosure
Removing the Old Thermocouple
1 Daily Cooling and Process Lines Check
Inspection of Cooling and Process Lines
Inspect all plumbing lines for leaks
Is there any leak detected in the lines?
Action on Leak Detection
Stop the Thermolator if a leak is detected
Describe the location and nature of the leak
Repair the leak
3 Monthly Unit Inspection
Inspection of Power Cords, Wires, and Electrical Connections
Inspect for issues
Check exterior power cords
Check the ground wire and thermocouple connections
Replace any wire that appears damaged or has worn or cracked insulation

Disconnect the main power

Remove the top panel of the Thermolator
Remove the heater cap
Heater Cap Bolt Removal
Use a 1/4-inch open-end wrench to remove the three bolts holding the cap to the heater tank
Wiring Harness and Layout
1 Yearly Unit Testing
Preparation for Test Mode
Shut down the Thermolator
Disconnect and lock out main power to the unit
Open the electrical enclosure
Set dip switches
Close the electrical enclosure and restore power to the unit
Press any button to display the first test menu
Key/Display Test
Enable Test Mode
