Rocker Arm Assembly

NOTICE: Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

All components of the rocker arm shaft lubricated with clean engine oil

Exhaust rocker arm and inlet rocker arm installed on rocker shaft

Depth of plug into rocker shaft (in mm)

Rocker arm and shaft installed

Run this procedure

Cylinder Head Removal

Start By:

Remove the exhaust manifold

Remove the fan drive mounting group

Remove the fuel rail and the fuel manifold

Remove the fuel filter base

Remove the inlet manifold

Remove the rocker arm and shaft

Remove the unit injectors

NOTICE: Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Run this procedure

Cylinder Head Installation

NOTICE: Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage.

Note: Attach a suitable lifting device to cylinder head (7). The weight of cylinder head (7) is approximately 147 kg (325 lb).

Position cylinder head (7)

Note: Examine bolts (5) for wear or for damage. Refer to Reuse And Salvage Guidelines, SEBF8301, 'Inspection and Reuse of Critical Fasteners Used in All Engines'.

Replace with new bolts (5), if necessary.

Install bolts (5) and install bolts (6).

Sign off on the cylinder head installation
