4750 Hourly Motor Bearing Lubrication
Preparation
Ensure the following greases are available
Lubrication Process
Verify motor is stopped and locked out before lubrication
Enter the NEMA Frame size of the motor
Is the NEMA Frame size between 210 and 280?
Apply the recommended amount of grease to the motor bearings
Post-Lubrication
Clean any excess grease from the motor exterior
Bearing Lubrication
Preparation
Ensure the fan is turned off and locked out before starting lubrication.
Gather necessary tools and materials, including high quality NLGI No. 2 or 3 multipurpose ball bearing grease.
Lubrication Process
Select the grease to be used
Clean the grease fitting to prevent contamination.
Apply the appropriate amount of grease to the bearing.
Rotate the shaft to distribute the grease evenly.
Post-Lubrication
1 Yearly Cooler Maintenance
Annual Shut-Down
Turn off the water supply to the cooler
Unscrew and remove the standpipe to allow the water to drain down
Ensure no water is left standing in the unit for prolonged periods
Apply a coat of high quality sub-sealer to painted galvanized steel reservoirs
Gently hose stubborn deposits from the face of the evaporative media with fresh water
Run fresh water through the pump and water distribution system for 30 minutes
Ensure the fan/blower is turned off while flushing the system
Confirm the reservoir is filled with water before operating the water pump
Water Distributor Cleaning
Preparation
Remove the access panel and roof edge cover below the distributor.
Remove the inside hose from the end of the distributor pipe and the pipe support that attaches to the cooler roof.
Distributor Pipe Removal
Remove both distributor end caps.
Insert a 1/2" diameter x 6ft long rod or dowel into the distributor.
Secure the end of the dowel at the end opposite to where the distributor will be removed.
Rotate the distributor pipe down to break the seal and pull it out horizontally.
