2000 Hourly / 1 Yearly Drive Unit Gear Oil Change
Drive Unit: Change fluid. See “Drive Housing Lubrication” on page 6-58.
Remove the drain plug from the bottom of the gear housing cover and let the oil drain. See Figure 6-72.
After the oil has drained completely, flush the housing with a suitable solvent and permit it to drain.
Install the drain plug. See Figure 6-72.
Fill the drive housing with the specified gear oil through the fill plug opening in the top cover of the drive unit. The drive housing will hold 2.9 quarts (2.75 liters) of gear oil. Do not overfill.

2000 Hourly / 1 Yearly Pump Couplings Maintenance
Perform the following maintenance tasks every 360 days or 2000 HD, whichever comes first.
Pump Couplings: Separate pump and motor. Apply Molybdenum Anti-Seize Compound to the coupling:
- Remove the hydraulic reservoir. See “Hydraulic Reservoir” on page 6-86.
- With the pump assembly inverted, push the spring clip toward the pump housing. See Figure 6-124.
- Grasp the suction tube with the filter screen and pull out of the pump housing. See Figure 6-124.
- Remove the eight screws that secure the pump to the adapter body.;
500 Hourly / 6 Monthly Battery Inspection
Warning: This inspection requires trained personnel with PPE!
Enter the weight stamped on the battery
Does the weight fall within the allowable range?
If weight is not within the allowable range, report the pallet truck
Check for voltage leaks to frame
If cleaning does not remove voltage to frame, install a new battery
Inspect all battery connectors and leads for damage
Check if the battery gates are in position and not damaged
Enter the battery's free play in inches
500 Hourly / 6 Monthly Brakes Maintenance
Perform the following maintenance tasks every 180 days or 500 HD, whichever comes first.
In an open area, measure stopping distance. Traveling to 2 to 3 mph (3.2 to 4.8 km/hr) empty, apply the brake; the empty pallet truck should stop within 2 to 4 feet (0.6 to 1.2 m).
During normal operation, with a rated load and traveling at top speed, the pallet truck should stop within approximately one and one-half truck lengths. Stopping distance depends on the load, floor, and tire condition. Examine for signs of oil on the pads or rotor. If oil is present, disassemble brake and clean the pads and rotor.
Failure to keep brakes adjusted causes premature pad and rotor wear and excessive motor heat. See "Brake" on page 6-41.;
500 Hourly / 6 Monthly Combine Maintenance
Brake (Deadman) Switch: Check the adjustment.
Hydraulic reservoir: Check fluid level.
Switches: Check all switches for correct operation and adjust as needed.
Ventilation Slots: Make sure ventilation slots in the tractor frame are clear of obstructions and debris.
Warning Decals: Replace any unreadable or damaged decals.
Load Wheels and Drive Tires: Examine for bond failure, chunking, and excessive or uneven wear. Inspect load wheel bearings for binding or excessive play. Check caster adjustment.
