Pressure Transmitter Scaled D/A Trim Calibration
Calibration Setup
Connect a digital voltmeter and precision resistor in the output loop.
Is the calibration equipment set up as described in the Calibration Setup, page 77?
Trim Calibration
Perform trim calibration at the following mA outputs
Is the FoxCalTM feature enabled?
Was the transmitter rezeroed after stabilization at the final operating temperature?
Were zero shifts resulting from position effects eliminated by rezeroing the transmitter output?
Post Calibration Checks
Pressure Transmitter Time in Service Meter Calibration
Viewing Time in Service
View the total days the transmitter has been in service using the 1 Device Setup > 2 Calibration > Time in Service Meter menu selection.
View the user days since the last reset using the 1 Device Setup > 2 Calibration > Reset User Days menu selection.
Resetting User Days
Reset the user days to zero if necessary.
Calibration and Zeroing
Perform a two-point calibration if FoxCalTM is enabled.
Rezero the transmitter output once it has stabilized at the final operating temperature.
Check underrange and overrange output values to ensure they extend beyond 4 and 20 mA, respectively.
Pressure Transmitter PV Range Calibration
Preparation
Ensure the transmitter is in linear mode for DP transmitters
Disable FoxCalTM if performing a two-point calibration
Edit LRV and URV
Enter new LRV value
Enter new URV value
Confirm LRV and URV values are within the calibrated range
Apply Pressure Method
Apply minimum pressure and record LRV
Pressure Transmitter Display Testing
Access the transmitter’s top level menu
Navigate to TST DSP and initiate test
Step through the five test patterns
Exit the display test
Pressure Transmitter PV Offset Calibration
Access PV Offset Function
Navigate to Device Setup > Full Configuration > View Parameters or Edit Parameters
Perform Calibration
Select calibration method
Check underrange and overrange output values extend beyond 4 and 20 mA
For DP transmitters, ensure zero reading is checked in linear mode before returning to square root mode
Reranging and Display
Display LRV and URV in pressure units using RERANGE function
Ensure LRV and URV are within calibrated range if FoxCalTM is disabled
