Pressure Transmitter Partial Proof Testing
Preparation
Ensure required tools are available
Follow the required protocol to remove the device from online operation
Failsafe Settings Verification
Override the milliamp output to the High Failsafe setting
Confirm the mA output corresponds to the High Failsafe setting
Override the milliamp output to the Low Failsafe setting
Confirm the mA output corresponds to the Low Failsafe setting
Post-Test Actions
Pressure Transmitter Two-Point Field Calibration
Preparation
Ensure the FoxCalTM feature is enabled before starting calibration
Is the input pressure accuracy at least four times better than the transmitter’s reference accuracy specification?
Calibration Process
Perform calibration at LRV point
Perform calibration at URV point
Is the FoxCalTM feature disabled after URV calibration?
Rezero the transmitter output after stabilization at final operating temperature?
Post Calibration Checks
Pressure Transmitter Terminal Block Assembly Replacement
Safety Precautions
De-energize transmitters before removing threaded housing covers
Ensure no flammable or combustible atmosphere is present before disconnecting equipment
Disassembly
Turn off the transmitter power source
Disengage the cover lock screw by turning clockwise (if applicable)
Remove the covers from the field terminals and electronics compartments by rotating counterclockwise
Remove the digital display by rotating it counterclockwise (if applicable)
Loosen the two captive screws and remove the electronics module from the housing
Pressure Transmitter Display Testing
Access the transmitter’s top level menu
Navigate to TST DSP and initiate test
Step through the five test patterns
Exit the display test
Pressure Transmitter Zero Trim Calibration
Calibration Setup
Set up the calibration equipment as per transmitter instructions (see Calibration Setup, page 77).
Zero Trim Procedure
Is zero pressure applied or equal pressures on both sides of a differential pressure transmitter?
Is the transmitter an absolute pressure transmitter with full vacuum applied?
Post Calibration Checks
Check underrange output value (should extend beyond 4 mA).
Check overrange output value (should extend beyond 20 mA).
For DP transmitters, is the output returned to linear mode before zero check and back to square root mode after?
