Ensure capacitors are discharged safely

Verify no live electrical components and wiring are exposed

Check for continuous electrical ground

Is there any fault that could compromise safety?

Ensure no electrical supply is connected to the circuit until faults are resolved

Is the unit operated in a dusty climate?

Remove the unit from the sleeve

Clean the condenser coil thoroughly

Ensure no hydrocarbon-based cleaners are used

Ensure the cleaning cloth is not excessively wet

Clean the control area on the front panel with care

Was the frontpanel cleaned successfully?

Unplug the air conditioner to prevent shock or fire hazards

Check the air filter to determine if cleaning is necessary

Remove the front grille from the unit by grabbing from both sides and pulling towards you

Pull out the air filter from the unit

Choose the cleaning method for the filter

If washing, rinse the filter thoroughly after cleaning

Gently shake the excess water from the filter

Remove unit to inspect dirt build-up on the inside of the coil and basepan

Check for dirt and algae build-up

Is the coil clogged with dirt and dust?

Clean the basepan if there is dirt or algae build-up

Ensure not to use high-pressure spray on coil
