Measure the span length of the drive (in inches)

Calculate the required deflection (in inches)

Lay a straightedge across the top outer surface of the drive belt from pulley to pulley

Apply pressure with a belt tension gauge and record the deflection force reading

Is the deflection force reading within the specified range?

Adjust the belt(s) if the deflection force reading is not within the specified range

Recheck the tension of the new belts several times in the first 50 hours of operation

Inspect the air tank at scheduled intervals

Measure tank wall thickness at several locations

Is the tank wall thickness within acceptable limits?

Refer to federal, state, provincial, or local codes for mandatory air tank maintenance information

Inspect motor pulley(s) and compressor sheave(s) for issues

Are the pulley(s) and sheave(s) securely fastened?

Clean or replace pulley(s) and sheave(s) if necessary

Is the compressor sheave aligned with the motor pulley?

Are the drive belt grooves in line with each other?

Is the compressor crankshaft parallel to the motor or engine drive shaft?

Check lubricant levels for QT models

Add lubricant to QT models until it reaches the bottom edge of the lubricant fill opening

Maintain lubricant levels for other models between high and low level marks on dipstick

Drain and replace contaminated lubricant

Air Distribution System Maintenance

Drain drop legs and traps in air distribution system

Soak valve assembly in safety solvent

Clean valve plates and reed valves with a stiff bristle brush

Was a non-flammable and non-toxic solvent used?

Handle parts with care to avoid damage

Use new gaskets during reassembly
