Linearity Test
Pre-Test Requirements
Ensure the balance has passed the Precision and Repeatability Tests
Ensure the balance is calibrated before performing the Linearity Test
Test Procedure
Record the weight of the Reference Mass on the Balance
Place Load 1 on the Balance and press TARE
Record the weight of the test mass after placing it on the Balance
Place Load 2 on the Balance and press TARE
Record the weight of the test mass after placing it on the Balance
Load Cell Replacement
Disassembly
Open the balance and verify no mechanical interference, pinched wire, or bad solder connection
Remove the Load-cell Shield by lifting vertically (Note: Top Loader models do not have a Load-cell Shield)
Disconnect the two Load Cell connections at the Main PCB
Remove the Load Cell by unscrewing the 4 load cell screws from the bottom housing and lift the Load Cell Module from the Base
Re-Assembly
Reverse the disassembly procedure to assemble the balance
Ensure no foreign material between the Base mounting surfaces and the Load cell
Route the wires and cables properly for RFI/ESD performance, ensuring they are not pinched during reassembly
Explorer Balances Check
Pan and Sub Pan Inspection and Cleaning
Remove the Pan and Sub Pan to inspect the area beneath the Pan
Clean the area beneath the Pan
Clean the outside of the balance using a damp cloth with warm water
Check the Power Cord for broken or damaged insulation
Make a visual inspection for faulty connectors, wiring, and loose hardware
Note any issues found during inspection
CAUTION: DO NOT USE CHEMICAL CLEANERS OR SOLVENTS OF ANY TYPE. SOME CLEANERS ARE ABRASIVE AND MAY AFFECT THE BALANCE’S FINISH.
Function Label Replacement
Remove the old label
Use a broad blade to remove the label from a corner
Ensure not to cut into the plastic Housing or yourself
Work slowly to allow adhesive time to release
Wear eye protection when using a knife
Clean the glue residue from the Housing surface
Use a section of the adhesive on the removed label to pick up remaining adhesive
Use knife or fingers to roll up remaining adhesive
If adhesive smears, use a cotton cloth to pick up as much as possible

Preparation
Remove the Terminal Main PCBA and the LC Display
Remove the Function Label
Remove the Terminal top housing
Installation
Install a new Terminal top housing
Install a new Function Label
Calibration
Calibrate the Touch Panel
