Printed Circuit Board Assembly Replacement
ESD Protection
Ensure ESD protection is in place
Use a conductive mat with wrist straps
Terminal Module
Open the Terminal Module
Remove the accessory module, if equipped
Remove the Interconnect PCBA
Remove the speaker by removing the 2 screws and lifting it out
Remove the Main PCBA
Function Label Replacement
Remove the old label
Use a broad blade to remove the label from a corner
Ensure not to cut into the plastic Housing or yourself
Wear eye protection while using a knife
Clean the glue residue from the Housing surface
Use a section of the adhesive on the removed label to pick up remaining adhesive
Use knife or fingers to roll up remaining adhesive
Use a cotton cloth if adhesive smears
Test solvent on inside of Housing to check for plastic damage
Feet Replacement
Preparation
Ensure all necessary tools and parts are available
Review the sketch for assembly order and plate orientation
Bearing Assembly
Check the components of the bearing assembly
Ensure the curved surface of the disks face the ball bearings
Plate Installation
Is the load bearing plate oriented correctly with the curve facing inward and towards the front?
Final Assembly
Load Cell Replacement
Disassembly
Open the balance – see Section 3.2. Verify that there is no mechanical interference, pinched wire or bad solder connection that may be causing the load cell to appear defective.
Remove the Load-cell Shield by lifting vertically. Note the Top Loader models do not have a Load-cell Shield.
Disconnect the two Load Cell connections at the Main PCB.
Remove the Load Cell – remove the 4 load cell screws from the bottom housing. Lift the Load Cell Module from the Base. Do not lift by the Pan Support Cone or the cables.
Re-Assembly
Reverse the disassembly procedure to assemble the balance.
Ensure that there is no foreign material between the Base mounting surfaces and the Load cell.
Take special care to route the wires and cables as shown in the following pictures. Proper routing is important for RFI/ESD performance.

Clean the area beneath the Pan
Clean the outside of the balance with a damp cloth and warm water
Visual Inspection
Check the Power Cord for broken or damaged insulation
Inspect for faulty connectors, wiring, and loose hardware
