Position Sensor Board Replacement
Preparation
Open the balance and remove the Load Cell
Position Sensor Board Removal
Un-solder the wires attached to the Position Sensor Board
Identify wire connections
Remove the three screws holding the Position Sensor Board
Position Sensor Board Installation
Remove the Position Sensor Board and install the replacement
Insert and finger-tighten all screws for adjustment
Incal Mechanism Removal
Disassembly
Locate and remove components
Set the metal plate aside
Locate and remove InCal components
Use gloves to handle the InCal test weight
Securely set the InCal test weight aside
Off-Center Load Adjustment
Precision Models
Ensure the balance is free from drafts
Set Auto-Zero to Off, in Menu Setup
Open the balance (See Section 3.1)
Reinstall the Pan
Plug the power cord into the balance and turn it on
Place a mass that weighs the balance’s full capacity on the center of the Pan
Press O/T (the center button) to tare the balance and return the displayed weight to 0g
Note the displayed values when moving the mass to the front, back, left, and right edges of the Pan
Linearity Test
Pre-Test Requirements
Ensure the balance is warmed up
Verify the balance has passed the following tests
Calibrate the balance before performing the Linearity Test
Reference Mass Preparation
Enter the full capacity of the balance
Calculate and enter the Reference Mass (approximately 1/8 of the full capacity)
Linearity Test Procedure
Press ZERO to zero the display
Balances Check
Pan and Support Inspection
Remove the Pan and Pan Support to inspect the area beneath the Pan
Clean the area beneath the Pan
Balance Exterior Cleaning
Clean the outside of the balance using a damp cloth with warm water
Electrical Inspection
Check the Power Cord for broken or damaged insulation
Make a visual inspection for faulty connectors, wiring, and loose hardware
