Safety Information
Check for contamination
Clean the fan cowl grid
Remove coarse dirt from fins
Dirt Trap Cleaning
5.5 Cleaning the Dirt Trap
Ensure all safety information from Section 5.1 is observed
Take off the intake line
Remove the dirt trap from the intake flange
Rinse the dirt trap using a suitable solvent
Thoroughly dry the dirt trap with compressed air
Is the dirt trap damaged?
Replace the dirt trap if it is damaged

Safety Precautions
Observe all safety information provided in Section 5.1
Switch off the pump and vent to atmospheric pressure before removing any plugs
Ensure the pump has cooled down if it was warm during operation
Wear protective gloves to protect against aggressive residues in the oil
Oil Drainage
Use the oil-drain facility as recommended
Unscrew the oil-drain screws (11/2) or (11/1) and the oil-fill screw (11/4) to drain the oil
Clean the sealing surface and reinstall the oil-drain screw using a gasket in perfect condition
Pressure Balance Line Valve Cleaning
5.7 Cleaning the Valve of the Pressure Balance Line
Observe all safety information provided in Section 5.1
Remove the screws and take off the cover (12/1) with O-ring (12/2)
Take out the spring (12/4)
Remove the valve disk (12/6) with O-rings (12/5) and (12/7)
Check if the bushing (12/3) is damaged and replace if necessary
Clean all parts or replace them if necessary
Reassemble in the reverse sequence
Check the O-rings for leak-tightness and replace if found faulty
Pumping Chamber Cleaning

Ensure all safety precautions from Section 5.1 are observed
Remove the two connecting lines
Choose method to remove contaminants
Change the oil after cleaning
During cleaning, were the impellers turned only by hand?
Ensure no loosened deposits remain in the pump
After cleaning, do the impellers move freely and without resistance when turned by hand?
Verify that the Roots pump does not need disassembly
