Check the condition of the shaft seals and bushing

Monitor the oil level in the oiler (10/1)

Diagnosis — inner shaft seal fault

Is the oil level in the oiler dropping without oil appearing under the shaft seal housing?

Switch off the pump immediately if the inner shaft seal is faulty

Diagnosis — outer shaft seal fault

Is the oil level in the oiler dropping with oil appearing under the shaft seal housing?

Collect the oil which drips out under the motor to prevent slipping

5.7 Cleaning the Valve of the Pressure Balance Line

Observe all safety information provided in Section 5.1

Remove the screws and take off the cover (12/1) with O-ring (12/2)

Remove the valve disk (12/6) with O-rings (12/5) and (12/7)

Check if the bushing (12/3) is damaged

Pull out and replace the bushing (12/3) if damaged

Clean all parts or replace them if necessary

Reassemble in the reverse sequence

Ensure all safety precautions from Section 5.1 are followed

Remove the dirt trap from the intake flange

Rinse the dirt trap using a suitable solvent

Thoroughly dry the dirt trap with compressed air

Replace the dirt trap if it is damaged

5.4 Cleaning the Fan Cowl and the Cooling Fins

Check the oil level and condition in the oil level glass and oiler

Correct oil level and condition as required

Verify oil color is light-brown

Note if oil color is dark, indicating early ageing

Check oil level at vertical flow (center of oil-level glass) when pump is not running

Check oil level at horizontal flow (6 mm above center of oil-level glass)

Ensure oil level is not too low or too high
