Submersible Motor Pump Cleaning

Safety Precautions

Wear safety clothing and a protective mask if required

Observe all legal regulations on the disposal of fluids posing a health hazard

Flushing and Cleaning

Flush the pump if it has been used for handling noxious, explosive, hot or other hazardous fluids

Flush and clean the pump before transporting it to the workshop

Documentation and Disposal

Complete and enclose a certificate of decontamination when returning the pump set

Collect and properly dispose of the flushing fluid and of any residues of the fluid handled

4000 Hourly / 1 Yearly Insulation Resistance Inspection

Pre-Inspection Note

In demanding conditions (e.g. high mechanical and hydraulic loads) reduce the maintenance interval accordingly. For a consultation or any queries please contact KSB Service.

Preparation

Confirm the pump set has been disconnected in the control cabinet.

Ensure the insulation resistance measuring device is available.

Verify the maximum measuring voltage is set to 500 V (maximum permissible voltage 1000 V).

Measure Insulation Resistance

Measure the winding to chassis ground by connecting all winding ends together.

Measure the winding temperature sensor to chassis ground by connecting all core ends of the winding temperature sensors together and connecting all winding ends to chassis ground.

5 Yearly Coolant Change

Preparation

Place a suitable container under screw plug 903.33

Ensure the pump set is in a horizontal position

Draining the Coolant

Unscrew both screw plugs 903.34/903.35 with joint rings 411.34/411.35 at the coolant filler openings

Undo screw plug 903.33 with joint ring 411.33 and drain off the coolant

Inspection

Check the appearance of the drained coolant

Is the coolant severely contaminated?
