Ensure the pump set is disconnected in the control cabinet

Use an insulation resistance measuring device with a maximum measuring voltage of 500 V (maximum permissible voltage 1000 V)

Measure the winding to chassis ground

Connect all winding ends together

Record the insulation resistance of the winding to chassis ground

Is the insulation resistance of the winding to chassis ground lower than 1 MΩ?

Measure the winding temperature sensor to chassis ground

Check the bail or eyebolt including fasteners (screws/bolts) for any visible damage

Replace any damaged components by original spare parts

Consult KSB Service for demanding conditions

Wear safety clothing and a protective mask if required.

Observe all legal regulations on the disposal of fluids posing a health hazard.

Has the pump been used for handling noxious, explosive, hot or other hazardous fluids?

Flush the pump if it has been used for handling hazardous fluids.

Flush and clean the pump before transporting it to the workshop.

Complete and enclose a certificate of decontamination when returning the pump set.

Inspect the power cables for visible damage

Replace any damaged components with original spare parts

Measure the resistance between the ground conductor and chassis ground

Is the electrical resistance lower than 1 Ω?

Replace any damaged components with original spare parts

Never switch on a pump set with a defective ground conductor

Ensure the pump set is positioned on a level surface and secured against tipping over.

Verify that the pump set is de-energized and secured against unintentional start-up.

Remove screw plug 903.46 and joint ring 411.46.

Connect the pump set to the power supply.

Secure the pump set against tilting.

Fill in 2.1 oz [60 g] of grease via lubricating nipple 636.02.
