3000 Hourly / 1 Yearly Rolling Element Bearing Oil Change
Prerequisites
Ensure a suitable container for the used oil is on hand
Oil Change Procedure
Place the container underneath the screw plug
Undo the screw plug (2) at the bearing bracket (3) and drain the oil
Re-insert and re-tighten the screw plug (2) after draining
Re-fill with oil
Oil Quality Specifications
Verify oil quality according to specifications
Shaft Seal Removal
Pre-removal Checks
Ensure notes and steps from Section 7.4.1 to Section 7.4.5 have been observed/carried out.
Verify that the back pull-out unit is placed in a clean and level assembly area.
Mechanical Seal Removal
Remove the rotating assembly of the mechanical seal (primary ring) from shaft sleeve 523.
Undo nuts 920.15 at casing cover 161, if present.
Casing Cover Variant
Remove the stationary assembly of the mechanical seal (mating ring) from casing cover 161.
Pull shaft sleeve 523 off shaft 210.
Gland Packing Removal
Verify notes and steps from Section 7.4.1 to Section 7.4.5 have been observed/carried out
Ensure the back pull-out unit is placed in a clean and level assembly area
Undo nuts 920.02 at the gland follower and loosen gland follower 452
Undo nuts 920.15 at casing cover 161
For variants with a clamped casing cover, undo transport locks 901.98 and remove cover plates 81-92.01 and 81-92.02 with transport locks 901.98 and lock washers 554.98. Remove casing cover 161 from bearing bracket 330
For variants with a bolted casing cover, use forcing screws 901.31 to remove casing cover 161 from bearing bracket 330
Remove gland follower 452 from casing cover 161 and remove the packing
Remove stuffing box ring 454
Remove packing rings 461 and lantern ring 458, if any
Impeller Clearance Check
Initial Inspection
Remove the impeller if clearances need to be checked.
Clearance Measurement
Measure the clearance between the impeller and casing.
Select the impeller material
Clearance Evaluation
Is the clearance within the permitted range for the selected impeller material?
Fit new casing wear ring 502.1 and/or 502.2 if the clearance is larger than permitted.

Bearings Dismantling
Verify notes and steps from Section 7.4.1 to Section 7.4.6 have been observed/carried out
Place the bearing bracket in a clean and level assembly area
Undo the grub screw in the coupling hub
Pull the coupling hub off shaft 210 with a special puller
Remove key 940.02
Remove thrower 507.01
Remove pump-end bearing cover 360.01 and drive-end bearing cover 360.02
Remove hexagon head bolts 901.01 and 901.02 as well as gaskets 400.01 and 400.02
Press shaft 210 out of the shaft seat
