600 Hourly Front Wheel Bearings Maintenance
Jack up front end of tractor. CAUTION: Support tractor securely on stands before removing a wheel.
Is the tractor securely supported on stands?
Remove hub cap, cotter pin, and wheel nut.
Remove washer and wheel bearings. Clean all parts in solvent and blow dry with compressed air. Replace any worn or damaged parts.
Are all parts cleaned and any worn or damaged parts replaced?
Pack bearing with multipurpose grease. (See Fuels, Lubricants and Coolant section.) Coat seal with same grease.
Reinstall bearings, washer, and wheel nut.
Tighten wheel nut until a slight drag is felt when hub is turned. Back nut off just enough to install cotter pin in hole in wheel spindle.
Is the wheel nut tightened and cotter pin installed correctly?
250 Hourly Enclosure Air Filters Cleaning
CAUTION: The air quality system air filters are not designed to filter out harmful chemicals.
Follow the instructions in the implement operator’s manual and those given by the chemical manufacturer when using agricultural chemicals.
Remove four screws and recirculation vent and filter (A).
Clean filter under running water and dry with compressed air. Cleaning filter may be required more often in dusty conditions.
NOTE: A fresh air intake filter is located above each cab door, under roof.
Loosen two screws (B) and slide retainer plates (C) away from filter retainer (D). Remove retainer and filter.
Clean filters with compressed air. Inspect filters for damage, replace as necessary.
Sign off on the air filters cleaning
600 Hourly Hoses and Hose Clamps Check
Check the following systems hose clamps for tightness:
- Air Cleaner to engine intake or turbocharger
- Engine Cooling
- Hydraulics
- Fuel
- Air Conditioning and Heater (Cab)
Check all hoses for cracks which could cause leaks or possible failure. Replace as necessary.;
250 Hourly Battery Maintenance
CAUTION: Sulfuric acid in battery electrolyte is poisonous. It is strong enough to burn skin, eat holes in clothing, and cause blindness if splashed into eyes.
Avoid the hazard by: Filling batteries in a well-ventilated area, Wearing eye protection and rubber gloves, Avoiding breathing fumes when electrolyte is added, Avoiding spilling or dripping electrolyte, Use proper jump start procedure.
If you spill acid on yourself: Flush your skin with water, Apply baking soda or lime to help neutralize the acid, Flush your eyes with water for 15—30 minutes. Get medical attention immediately.
If acid is swallowed: Do not induce vomiting, Drink large amounts of water or milk, but do not exceed 2 L (2 quarts), Get medical attention immediately.
Check level of electrolyte in each cell (A) at least every 250 hours. If low, fill to bottom of filler necks with CLEAN, SOFT water. DO NOT OVERFILL.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT add water in freezing weather unless tractor will be run at least 30 minutes to assure thorough mixing.
Coat terminals with a small amount of grease.
Sign off on the battery maintenance
Two-Wheel Tractor Toe Adjustment
Loosen lock nuts (A) and back out the bolts (B) on tie rod tubes several turns.
Adjust tie rods on both sides of the tractor equally by rotating the inner tube (C) to lengthen or shorten tie rod. Adjust toe-in to 3 to 6 mm (1/8 to 1/4 in.)
Enter the toe-in adjustment value
Tighten bolts (B) to 85 N·m (62 lb-ft). Do not over tighten as damage to the tube may occur.
Enter the torque applied to bolts (B)
Tighten the lock nuts (A) to 90 N·m (66 lb-ft).
Enter the torque applied to lock nuts (A)
