Inspect smooth operation of the valve

Apply suitable lubricants during assembly

Record the valve’s maintenance activities

Use statistics for planning inspections

Ensure all equipment is in place for sterilization

Verify that no cold fluid is present in the equipment

Confirm sterilization with steam is applied to all equipment including the pigging

Ensure equipment is not started during sterilization with steam

Record the temperature of the equipment

Verify maximum conditions during the SIP process

Ensure the valve and pipes are not under pressure

Verify that the actuator is disconnected from the compressed air

Inspect the following components for wear and damage

Record any problems found during inspection

Ensure spare replacement seals are in stock

Wear rubber gloves during all cleaning procedures.

Always wear protective goggles.

Check for the presence or possible formation of potentially explosive atmospheres.

Clean the external part of the valve and/or actuator to avoid excessive accumulation of dust.

Ensure no accumulations of dust greater than 2 mm are present.

Ensure the following seal materials are not used

Ensure EPDM is used as the seal material

Select the type of cleaning solution to prepare

Add 100 l of chlorine-free water

Alternatively, measure 2.2 l of NaOH at 33% and add to 100 l of chlorine-free water
