Ensure all equipment is in place for sterilization

Verify that no cold fluid is present in the equipment

Confirm sterilization with steam is applied to all equipment including the pigging

Ensure equipment is not started during sterilization with steam

Record the temperature of the equipment

Is the equipment temperature below 60°C (140°F) before introducing cold fluid?

Ensure the valve and pipes are not under pressure

Verify that the actuator is disconnected from the compressed air

Inspect the following components

Record any problems observed during inspection

Confirm spare replacement seals are in stock

Ensure the following seal materials are not used

Ensure EPDM is used as the seal material

Select the type of cleaning solution to prepare

Add 100 liters of chlorine-free water

Alternatively, measure 2.2 liters of NaOH at 33%

Wear rubber gloves during all cleaning procedures

Ensure no potentially explosive atmospheres are present before starting assembly and disassembly works

Clean the external part of the valve and/or actuator to avoid excessive accumulation of dust, combustible, or explosive materials

Ensure no accumulations exceed a thickness of 2 mm

Check for leaks around the valve

Ensure smooth operation of the valve

Apply suitable lubricants to the seat seal material during assembly

Record the maintenance activities performed on the valve

Use maintenance records for planning future inspections
