CAUTION: Attach the large air hose to the air sleep surface compressor with a cable tie. If the hose becomes unattached during operation, equipment damage could occur.

Sign off on the compressor replacement

Raise the bed to the high position using the hilow function.

Unclip the night light lens (A), located on the bottom of the motor cover (B). Refer to figure 4-15 on page 4-42.

Push the night light bulb (C) in, and turn it counterclockwise to remove it.

WARNING: Use a 2 x 4 to support the foot end of the bed during this procedure. Failure to do so could cause the foot end of the bed to fall, resulting in personal injury or equipment damage.

Place a 2 x 4 (A) between the intermediate frame (B) and the foot lift arm assembly (C)

Using the bed up/bed down controls, lower the bed onto the 2 x 4 (A) to support the foot end of the bed.

Remove the hilow foot motor assembly

SHOCK HAZARD: Unplug the bed from its power source. Failure to do so could result in personal injury or equipment damage.

Unplug the bed from its power source.

Using the T25 Torx®1 head screwdriver, remove the screw (D) and nut (E) that secure the circuit board pan (F)

Enter the ground resistance in ohms

Is ground resistance less than 0.20 ohms?

Enter the leakage current in microamps

Is leakage current less than 65 microamps for 115 volt models?

Is leakage current less than 90 microamps for 230 volt models?

Sign off on the electrical test

SHOCK HAZARD: Unplug the bed from its power source. Failure to do so could result in personal injury or equipment damage.

Remove the head motor assembly from the bed

Remove two screws (A) from the head drive screw assembly

Loosen screws (C) and (D) approximately 1/8

Lift up the two CPR latches (E) and the CPR clip (F) to allow the head torque cage (G) to slide towards the head end of the bed

Slide the head drive screw bracket (H) towards the head end of the bed until the screw (C) can be lifted from the key hole slot

Slide the head drive screw assembly (B) toward the foot end of the bed until the screw (D) can be lifted from the key hole slot

Lift the CPR latch assembly (I) to allow the head drive screw assembly (B) to be removed from the bed

Remove the head drive screw assembly (B)
