Ensure footplates' lowest point is no closer to the ground than 2 1/2 inches.

Confirm no one stands on the footplates to prevent wheelchair tipping.

Pull swingaway release lever forward toward the front of the wheelchair to release lock.

Lift footrest straight up off wheelchair hinge pins to remove.

Ensure elevating legrests are locked in place before occupying or operating wheelchair.

Slowly rotate the legrest up to the desired position.

Ensure elevating legrest is locked in position.

Support the weight of the elevating legrest.

Move the release lever forward.

Slowly lower elevating legrest to desired position.

Rotate the panel upward to adjust position

Rotate the panel downward to return to position

Ensure legrest panels are locked in place before occupying or operating wheelchair

Footplate Extension Length Adjustment

Refer to Footrest—Detachable, Swingaway section for footplate extension length adjustment instructions

Check tires for surface wear and cracks

Ensure tires are not loose on the rims

Replace tires if loose or cracked

Inspect handrims for rough or sharp edges

Ensure all hardware is properly aligned and secure

Ensure handgrips are tight and securely fastened

Inspect upholstery for rips, tears, and worn spots

Ensure all upholstery-attaching screws are present and properly aligned

Tighten upholstery mounting screws with a Phillips screwdriver

Check for sharp edges or stripped screws and replace if found
