3 Monthly Safety Envelope Limit Switches And Angle Sensor Check

Check mark

- Check the Safety Envelope Limit Switches and Angle Sensor - S-60X, S-60XC and S-80X

Check mark

Testing the safety envelope system regularly is essential to safe machine operation. Continued use of an improperly operating safety envelope could result in the system not restricting the range of motion. Machine stability could be compromised resulting in the machine tipping over

Check mark

Note: Perform this procedure with the machine on a firm, level surface with all weight, tools and equipment removed from the platform

Check mark

Note: Start this procedure with the boom fully retracted and in the stowed position

Check mark

Ground controls:

Check mark

1. Turn the key switch to ground control and pull out the red Emergency Stop button to the on position

Check mark

2. Start the engine from the ground controls

Check mark

3. Turn and hold the function enable switch to the restricted maximum platform capacity and raise the primary boom until it is fully elevated

Check mark

4. Extend the primary boom until it is fully extended

Run this procedureArrow right

1 Yearly Extendable Axle Inspection

Check mark

Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!

Check mark

Start the engine from the platform controls and extend the axles

Check mark

Measure each axle wear pad

Check mark

Replace any wear pad if it is less than specification. If a wear pad is not less than specification, shim as necessary to obtain minimum clearance and no drag

Check mark

Extend and retract the axles through the entire range of motion to check for tight spots that may cause binding or scraping of the axle tubes

Check mark

Note: Always maintain squareness between the outer and inner axle tubes

Check mark

2000 Hourly Extendable Axle Wear Pads Check

Check mark

Maintaining the axle wear pads in good condition is essential to safe machine operation. Wear pads are placed on axle tube surfaces to provide a low friction, replaceable wear pad between moving parts. Improperly shimmed wear pads or continued use of worn out wear pads may result in component damage and unsafe operating conditions

Check mark

Be sure that the axles are fully extended before attempting this procedure

Check mark

Measure each wear pad

Check mark

Is the wear pad less than 0.437 inch/1.12 mm?

Check mark

If a wear pad is not less than specification, shim as necessary to obtain minimum clearance and no drag

Check mark

If the wear pads are still within specification, refer to Repair Procedure in the appropriate Service and Repair Manual for your machine, How to Shim the Extendable Axles.

Check mark

If any wear pads are replaced, refer to Repair Procedure in the appropriate Service and Repair Manual for your machine, Grease the Extendable Axles

Check mark

Extend and retract the axles through the entire range of motion to check for tight spots that may cause binding or scraping of the axle tubes

Check mark

Always maintain squareness between the outer and inner axle tubes

Run this procedureArrow right

1 Yearly Turntable Bearing Inspection

Check mark

Warning: Perform this procedure with the machine on a firm, level surface with the boom in the stowed position.

Check mark

Grease the turntable bearing. Refer to Maintenance Procedure, Grease the Turntable Bearing and Rotate Gear

Check mark

Torque the turntable bearing bolts to specification. Refer to Maintenance Procedure, Check the Turntable Rotation Bearing Bolts

Check mark

Raise the boom to full height using the ground controls. Do not extend the boom.

Check mark

Place a dial indicator between the drive chassis and the turntable at a point that is directly under, or inline with, the boom and no more than 1 inch / 2.5 cm from the bearing

Check mark

Adjust the dial indicator needle to the 'zero' position

Check mark

Lower the boom to a horizontal position and fully extend the boom

Check mark

Enter the reading on the dial indicator

Check mark

Move the booms to the positions indicated in step 3. Visually inspect the dial indicator to be sure the needle returns to the 'zero' position

Run this procedureArrow right
