1 Yearly Jib Rotate Bearing Maintenance

Check mark

Warning: Perform this procedure with the boom fully retracted and in the stowed position and with the machine on a firm, level surface

Check mark

Check the Jib Rotator Fastener torque

Check mark

Confirm that each jib rotator outer mounting bolt is torqued in sequence to specification

Check mark

Repeat the procedure for the inner mounting bolts

Check mark

Enter the torque of Jib boom rotate bearing bolts in ft-Ibs

Check mark

Grease the Jib Rotator

Check mark

While rotating the jib, pump grease into each bearing lubricating grease fitting until fresh grease is visible at the outer seal

Check mark

While rotating the jib, pump grease into the worm gear grease fitting until fresh grease is visible at one sealing lip or bearing cap

Check mark

Place a 750 lb / 340 kg weight in the platform and raise the jib until it is horizontal and parallel with the boom

Run this procedureArrow right

2000 Hourly Boom Wear Pads Check

Check mark

- Check the Boom Wear Pads

Check mark

Maintaining the boom wear pads in good condition is essential to safe machine operation. Wear pads are placed on boom tube surfaces to provide a low friction, replaceable wear pad between moving parts. Improperly shimmed wear pads or continued use of extremely worn wear pads may result in component damage and unsafe operating conditions

Check mark

1. Measure each wear pad. Replace the wear pad once it reaches the minimum allowable thickness. If the wear pad is still within specification, shim as necessary to obtain minimum clearance with zero binding

Check mark

2. Extend and retract the boom through the entire range of motion to check for tight spots that may cause binding or scraping of the boom

Check mark

Note: Always maintain squareness between the outer and inner boom tubes

Check mark

SX-150 / SX-180;

Check mark

3. Grease the platform end bottom wear pads with a suitable lubricant

Check mark

SX-150: Grease the #1 and #2 boom tubes

Check mark

SX-180: Grease the #0 and #1 boom tubes

Run this procedureArrow right

2000 Hourly / 3 Monthly Hydraulic Oil Maintenance

Check mark

Hydraulic Oil Inspection

Check mark

Visual inspection of hydraulic oil color (should be a clear, light-honey color)

Check mark

Visual inspection of hydraulic oil appearance (should be clear and not cloudy or visibly distorts the view through the sight glass or container)

Check mark

Visual inspection of hydraulic oil for particles, foreign objects, or other contamination

Check mark

Smell test of hydraulic oil (can smell 'hot' but not 'burnt')

Check mark

Feel test of hydraulic oil (should feel viscous and free of any rough feel due to particles)

Check mark

If the hydraulic oil fails any of the above inspections, the hydraulic oil must be tested by an oil distributor or replaced

Check mark

Note: If the hydraulic oil was not replaced at or before the 2000 hour maintenance interval, the oil must be tested every quarter by an oil distributor until the oil fails the test and is replaced

Check mark

After the oil has been replaced, continue the scheduled quarterly maintenance inspection

3 Monthly Safety Envelope Limit Switch Test

Check mark

- Test the Safety Envelope Limit Switches, Z-135/70, ZX-135/70, SX-105 XC, SX-125 XC, SX-135 XC, SX-150 and SX-180 Models

Check mark

Testing the machine envelope safety limit switches is critical to safe machine operation. If the boom is allowed to operate when a safety switch is not functioning correctly, the machine stability could be compromised and may tip over

Check mark

Note: Perform this procedure with the boom in the stowed position

Check mark

Note: Perform this procedure with the axles extended

Check mark

Note: Two people will be required to perform this procedure

Check mark

Note: Use the following chart to identify the description of each LCD screen control button used in this procedure

Check mark

Z-135/70 and ZX-135/70 Models:

Check mark

Secondary Boom #1 Retracted Safety Limit Switch, LSS1RS

Check mark

1. Working at the platform end of the turntable, support and secure the lower turntable riser end cover to a suitable lifting device
