3 Monthly Generator Belts Inspection
WARNING! Bodily injury hazard. Do not inspect while the engine is running. Remove the key to secure from operation
CAUTION! Bodily injury hazard. Beware of hot engine components. Contact with hot engine components may cause severe burns
Note: Charging the batteries with the engine does not fully charge the batteries. Periodically, use the AC battery charger to fully charge the batteries
All fasteners and cables on the generator are tight
Engine flywheel cover mounting fasteners removed
Pulley mounting fasteners are tight and pulleys show no signs of damage or unusual wear
Engine pulley and the generator pulley are aligned within specification using a straightedge
Pulley alignment, maximum offset: 0.0625 inch / 1.58 mm
Inspect the generator belts for
3 Monthly Oscillate Directional Valve Linkage Inspection
Oscillate Directional Valve Linkage present
Remove the drive chassis cover and the axle covers from the non-steer end of the drive chassis
Drive chassis cover and axle covers removed
Locate the oscillate directional valve inside of the non-steer axle
Oscillate directional valve located
Inspect the linkage for the following:
Lock nut is tight against yoke
Yoke clevis pins are installed
Cotter pins are installed through clevis pins

2000 Hourly / 3 Monthly Hydraulic Oil Maintenance
Hydraulic Oil Inspection
Visual inspection of hydraulic oil color (should be a clear, light-honey colored)
Visual inspection of hydraulic oil appearance (should be clear and not cloudy or visibly distorts the view through the sight glass or container)
Visual inspection of hydraulic oil for particles, foreign objects, or other contamination
Smell test of hydraulic oil (can smell 'hot' but not 'burnt')
Feel test of hydraulic oil (should feel viscous and free of any rough feel due to particles)
If the hydraulic oil fails any of the above inspections, the hydraulic oil must be tested by an oil distributor or replaced
Note: If the hydraulic oil was not replaced at or before the 2000 hour maintenance interval, the oil must be tested every quarter by an oil distributor until the oil fails the test and is replaced
After the oil has been replaced, continue the scheduled quarterly maintenance inspection
3 Monthly Turntable Level Sensor Test
A properly functioning level sensor (SCON) is essential to safe machine operation. The ECM at the ground controls (CON) monitors the position and angle of the machine using the signal from the level sensor. The level sensor signal is used to control the maximum working height of the primary and secondary booms
A digital level will be required to perform this procedure
A kit is available through Genie Product Support (Genie part number 58351). This kit includes a digital level with a magnetic base and cable harnesses
A properly calibrated digital level is essential to proper machine calibration. Refer to the manufactures calibration information
Use the following chart to identify the description of each LCD screen control button used in this procedure
Perform this procedure with the booms in the fully stowed position and the axles fully extended
Place the machine on a firm surface that has a side slope greater than 2° (6.5 inches / 16.5 cm) but less than 5° (16 inches / 40.6 cm)
Place a digital level that has been calibrated to gravity on the X axis of the turntable
Turn the key switch to ground control and pull out the red Emergency Stop button to the on position at both ground and platform controls
