6 Monthly Oil Analysis

Check mark

Oil quality and analysis

Check mark

WARNING: Do not mix oils of different brands, manufacturers, or types. Mixing of oils may cause excessive oil foaming, nuisance oil level cutouts, oil pressure loss, gas or oil leakage and catastrophic compressor failure.

Check mark

NOTICE: The Frick oil charge shipped with the unit is the best suited lubricant for the conditions specified at the time of purchase. If there is any doubt due to the refrigerant, operating pressures, or temperatures, refer to Frick Oil publication 160.802-SPC for guidance. Only use Frick oil filter elements or warranty claim may be denied.

Check mark

Participate in a regular, periodic oil analysis program to maintain oil and system integrity. Oil analysis kit part number: 333Q0001853.

Check mark

Oil samples for analysis should be taken after the oil filter. A 1/4 in. purge valve is provided in the oil filter canister head.

Check mark

Oil sampling procedure

Check mark

WARNING: Exercise extreme caution in the vicinity of operating equipment. Skin contact with lube oil or inhalation of vapors can cause serious injury or death, consider gloves and eye protection.

Check mark

Sample hot, active fluid while the equipment is operating. Sample after 30 min of compressor operation.

Check mark

Unthread the oil sampling valve cap and locknut.

1 Yearly VFD Units Skip Frequencies Check

Check mark

WARNING: Failure to enter skip frequencies could cause catastrophic compressor failure or severe compressor damage and result in serious injury or death.

Check mark

Check for excess vibration and skip frequencies anytime unit operating conditions change

Check mark

Enter the VFD speed

Check mark

Decrease the VFD speed by 100 rpm increments and check the entire package for elevated energy at each stage until the minimum speed range is reached.

Check mark

Check for high energy hot spots

Check mark

Enter the vibration meter reading

Check mark

Any readings that meet or exceed one inch per second must have that frequency range skipped in the microprocessor for the VFD, eliminating the ability of the package to operate within that frequency range.

Check mark

Enter the identified frequency range to be skipped

Check mark

Each identified range needs to have the skip set to as narrow a frequency band as possible, only making it wider until full range is accommodated.
