Pressure Transducer Replacement
Warning: Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while performing this task.
Control power shut off
Applicable transducer isolation valve closed
To change the discharge pressure transducer (PE-3), it will be necessary to depressurize the entire compressor package. Follow 'General Instructions For Replacing Compressor Unit Components' before going to step 3.
Identified wiring harness connectors
Wiring harness connector disconnected from transducer
Transducer unscrewed using a wrench on the metal hex at the base of the transducer
New transducer installed
Wiring harness reconnected to the transducer
Temperature Sensor Replacement
WARNING: Be extremely careful not to loosen thermowell while attempting to remove the temperature sensor. The use of two wrenches will be necessary to ensure the thermowell remains stationary. Loss of oil and/or refrigerant could occur. Exposure to refrigerant fumes and/or hot oil can cause injury or death.
Control power shut off
Upload a photo of the DIN connector plug removed from transmitter
Transmitter unit removed
Thermal compound applied to new sensor assembly
New sensor assembly inserted into thermal well and knurled ring tightened
Upload a photo of the DIN connector plug applied to transmitter
Control power turned on
NOTICE: The temperature sensor is factory set. If calibration is required, refer to Calibration Instructions in publication 090.040-O for service technicians.
Capacity Linear Transmitter Replacement
Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!

1 Yearly VFD Units Skip Frequencies Check
Vfd units check skip freq. (f) Check annually
Units with variable speed drives - check for excess vibration and skip frequencies anytime unit operating conditions change.
VFD skip frequencies
WARNING
Failure to enter skip frequencies could cause catastrophic compressor failure or severe compressor damage and result in serious injury or death.
Criteria for identifying elevated energy on VFD packages and establishing skip frequencies
With the RWF Il running loaded at full speed, the entire package must be physically checked for elevated energy, including any corresponding extremities such as valves, liquid injection piping, brackets, tubing, oil cooler and oil piping.
The VFD speed is to be decreased by 100 rpm increments and the entire package physically checked for elevated energy at each stage until the minimum speed range is reached.
As the high energy hot spots are identified, they are to be checked with a vibration meter and any readings that meet or exceed one inch per second must have that frequency range skipped in the microprocessor for the VFD, eliminating the ability of the package to operate within that frequency range.
