General Inspection

Inspect the hitch for excessive wear or cracks
Check the tongues of the hitch coupler for wear
Ensure bolts attaching the hitch are not loose

Turf Tender Tires Check
Pre-Check Safety Measures
Ensure no material is in the hopper before starting tire maintenance.
Tire Inspection
Inspect tires for the following issues
Tire Pressure Check
Measure the tire pressure for 26.5 in. tires
Is the tire pressure for 26.5 in. tires within the range of 13-18 psi (90-124 kPa)?
Measure the tire pressure for 33 in. tires
Is the tire pressure for 33 in. tires within the range of 15-22 psi (115-169 kPa)?
Turf Tender Inside Tire Change
Preparation
Empty all material from the hopper
Chock the wheel(s) on the opposite side of the Turf Tender
Securing the Turf Tender
Hook the Turf Tender to a tractor with the parking brake set
Jack up the frame directly in front of the axle mount
Support the frame with jack stands
Ensure no cement blocks or unstable piles of wood blocks are used
Axle and Wheel Removal
Hopper Conveyor Spliced Belt Replacement
Preparation
Run the conveyor until the belt splice is close to the front of the Turf Tender; then shut the vehicle’s engine off.
Ensure the vehicle’s engine is not running before starting the belt replacement procedure.
Loosening Components
Loosen the jam nut securing each of the four belt tensioning bolts (on both sides, front and rear).
Loosen the two nuts securing the drive motor mount to the hopper frame on the drive motor side (front and back) of the Turf Tender.
Loosen the four belt tensioning bolts (one on each side of both the front and rear rollers), ensuring each tensioning bolt is loosened the same number of turns.
Removing Old Belt
Rotate the loose belt until the splice is at the front of the Turf Tender.
