Perform alignment checks periodically following plant operating procedures

Enter the Total Indicated Reading (T.I.R.) at operating temperature

Enter the tolerance of the indicator

4.3.3 Alignment measurement guidelines

Rotate the pump coupling half and the driver coupling half together

Ensure indicator rods have contact with the same points on the driver coupling half

Move or shim only the driver to make adjustments

6.1 Maintenance schedule — Three-month inspections

Check that the foundation and the hold-down bolts are tight

Check the shaft alignment, and realign as required

Is the pumped fluid abrasive or corrosive?

Is the environment classified as potentially explosive?

If yes to any of the above, describe how the inspection intervals should be adjusted

6.2.5 Lubricate the bearings after a shutdown period

Flush out the bearings and bearing frame with a light oil to remove contaminants

Flush the bearing housing with the proper lubricating oil to ensure oil quality after cleaning
