Ensure all oil-filled frames have lip seals in their bearing covers

Locate grease fittings in the bearing cover at either end of the frame

Apply a small amount of multiple-purpose grease to each lip seal

Verify frame size and oil capacity

Enter the oil renewal interval in months

Ensure the pump is not operating before checking and filling oil

Measure the oil level and fill to the indicated level on the housing

Is the oil free from dirt and moisture?

Verify oil type based on temperature

Measure the bearing frame temperature at the drain connection

Is the frame denoted by a 'K' on the serial number plate and a view gauge on the side?

Is the wear ring clearance within acceptable limits?

Inspect balance lines for obstructions

Check balance lines for pinching, bending, or corrosion

Replace wear rings if clearance exceeds .03" per side

Replace balance lines if pinched, bent, or corroded

Ensure the pump is not operating before starting the oil change.

Verify the frame size and oil capacity

Remove the pipe plug at the top of the housing.

Check for dirt and moisture in the housing and clean if necessary.

Select the appropriate oil type based on temperature

Add new oil through the pipe plug opening until it reaches the indicated level on the side of the housing.

Is the leakage reducing to almost zero?
