3200-326 Startup Checklist — Instructions for Pumps with Balance Line and Wear Rings

Is the wear ring clearance within acceptable limits?

Inspect balance lines for obstructions

Check balance lines for pinching, bending, or corrosion

Replace wear rings if clearance exceeds .03" per side

Replace balance lines if pinched, bent, or corroded

Verify frame size and oil capacity

Is the oil renewal interval within 3-4 months?

Ensure the pump is not operating before checking oil level

Measure the bearing frame temperature at the drain connection

Select the oil type based on temperature

Add oil through the pipe plug opening at the top of the housing

Fill oil to the level indicated on the side of the housing

Ensure no dirt or moisture enters during oil addition

Enter the total running time between regreasing (hours)

Enter the approximate amount of grease per line fitting (cubic inches)

Verify grease compatibility with manufacturer's products

Remove plastic cover from zerk fittings and ensure cleanliness

Use hand-operated grease gun to pump grease into each bearing cavity

Ensure surplus grease goes through the bearing into the center part of the frame

Ensure grease and fittings are absolutely clean

Lubrication Instructions for Frame Sizes 6-7-8-16 (60B4 through 68B4)

Ensure the pump is not operating before starting the oil change.

Locate the oil drain plug at the bottom of the frame.

Place an oil container under the drain plug.

Remove the drain plug and allow the old oil to completely drain out.

Ensure all lip seals are present in the bearing covers

Locate grease fittings on the bearing covers at both ends of the frame

Enter the amount of multiple-purpose grease to be used (in grams)

Lubricate the lip seals through the grease fittings with the specified amount of grease
