Backup Battery Replacement

Check mark

CAUTION Use ESD precautions when installing the backup battery.

Check mark

Disconnect the power cable from the VC70. The VC70 will continue to work on backup battery power.

Check mark

Perform cold boot. The backup battery will stop powering the VC70.

Check mark

Open the four screws securing the Backup Battery door on the back of the vehicle computer and remove the door.

Check mark

Open the four screws securing the Backup Battery and disconnect the Backup Battery connector.

Check mark

Carefully pull the Backup Battery out of the computer.

Check mark

Place the new backup battery into the well.

Check mark

Connect the Backup Battery connector to the connector inside the Backup Battery well.

Check mark

Secure the battery into location using four screws.

Vehicle computer is cleaned with a soft lens cloth

Enter the torque of the nuts and bolts

Do you have spare screws for changing desiccant bags and SD cards?

Desiccant Bag Replacement

Warning: Do not use any sharp tool to pull the dessicant bag out of the VC70. Failure to comply may cause tear of the bag and damage to the VC70.

Did you remove the old dessicant bag using the attached tab?

Did you open the new desiccant package and remove the desiccant bag?

Check mark

Did you fold the four corners of the bag under to form a pillow?

Check mark

Did you place the desiccant bag in the desiccant well?

Caution: Be sure to torque the screws to seal the device properly. Otherwise, sealing can be compromised.

Did you secure the door to the housing using the two captive screws?

Check mark

Enter the torque applied to the screws (in kgf.cm)

Check mark

Sign off on the desiccant bag replacement
