Acknowledge understanding of safety information

Ensure the following safety measures are in place

Remove any visible dirt and debris from the pump exterior

Clean grease fittings to ensure they are not dirt covered

Inspect pump for any signs of damage or wear

Ensure all necessary tools and materials are available, including lubricant and press.

Add a chamfer on the bushing and the mating part.

Installation of Carbon Graphite Bushings

Ensure the bushing is started straight.

Do not stop pressing operation until bushing is in proper position.

Check bushing for cracks after installation.

Installation of High Temperature Bushings

Acknowledge understanding of safety information

Apply external lubrication slowly with a hand gun to all lubrication fittings

Contact Viking Pump® representative for specific lubrication questions

Check Engineering Service Bulletin ESB-515 for grease compatibility

Are there applications involving very high or low temperatures?

Grease O-Pro™ seals with a compatible lubricating fluid

Ensure pressure in the chamber is completely vented

Lock out or make non-operational the driving means

Identify the liquid the pump has been handling and obtain MSDS

Insert brass or plastic bar through port opening between rotor teeth

Bend up tang of lockwasher and remove locknut and lockwasher from shaft

Remove brass or plastic bar from port opening

Loosen setscrews in the face of the bearing housing

Ensure pressure in the chamber is completely vented

Lock out or make non-operational the driving means

Identify the liquid the pump has been handling

Obtain and understand the material safety data sheet (MSDS) for the liquid

Refer to TSM for procedure on adjusting end clearance for the specific pump model

Adjust the end clearance between the rotor teeth and the head
