Ensure the unit is switched off

Is the oil level partially covering the sight-glass on the level matching tube?

Is the oil level clearly visible through the sight-glass?

Is the oil level flat without any ripples?

Ensure all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn

Inspect the area for any obstructions around the coils

Gently brush the fins to avoid damage

Wash the coils with water and detergent

Remove any foreign bodies from the condensing coils

Is it possible to clean the coils effectively?

Ensure all necessary equipment is available

Drain and evacuate the circuit to remove non-condensable gases and humidity

Wash the refrigerant system thoroughly

Restoration of Oil and Refrigerant

Enter the amount of new oil added (as per serial no. plate)

Enter the amount of refrigerant added (as per serial no. plate)

Was the refrigerant piped from a cylinder in the liquid phase?

Ensure the compressor is running

Is the oil level visible through the sight-glass?

Record the oil level in the sight-glass

Is there any foam present when the unit starts?

Is there prolonged and excessive foam during operation?

Is the oil level within the normal range?

Check power consumption of the unit

Check contactors on the electric panel

Inspect motors and fan blades for cleanliness and abnormal vibrations

Ensure motor cleanliness and check for impurities

Check gas charge and humidity in circuit (with unit running at full capacity)

Check the functioning of the maximum and minimum pressure switches
