Measuring Belt Tension Maintenance
Preparation
Select the belt tension gauge
Measuring Belt Tension
Measure belt span between centers of sheaves (in inches)
Calculate deflection by dividing belt span by 64
Set the large 'O' ring of the tensioning gauge at 1/64 inch for each inch of belt span
Set the load 'O' ring at zero
Place the large end of the gauge at the center of the belt span and press down until the large 'O' ring is even with the top of the belt line
Place a straight edge across the sheaves as a reference point
1 Monthly Stealth™ Air-Cooled Chiller Check
Air Filter and Coil Inspection
Inspect unit air filters for blockages or dirt.
Inspect coils for excess moisture or icing.
Condensate and Fan Belt Check
Check condensate flow through piping, traps, drain pan, and drainage holes.
Check condition and tension of fan belts.
Refrigerant and Filter Drier Inspection
Check liquid line sight glasses for bubbles.
Inspect filter driers for leaks, flow obstructions, or temperature drop.
6 Monthly Stealth™ Air-Cooled Chiller Maintenance
Fan Motor and Bearings Maintenance
Verify the fan motor is properly lubricated.
Lubricate fan bearings during unit operation.
Fan Wheel Inspection
Disconnect power before inspection.
Manually rotate the fan wheel to check for obstructions or interference.
Remove obstructions and debris from the fan housing.
Center the fan wheel if necessary.
Fan Assembly Alignment
Variable Frequency Drive Maintenance
Safety Precautions
Disconnect all electric power, including remote disconnects and discharge all motor start/run capacitors.
Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures to ensure the power cannot be inadvertently energized.
Verify with a CAT III or IV voltmeter rated per NFPA 70E that all capacitors have discharged.
Access Panel Removal
Remove the unit center cover panel to the left of the VFD panel.
Remove and discard the sheet metal shipping screws along the top and bottom edges of the VFD panel.
Disconnect the communications cable from the keypad on the VFD door panel.
Turn the two slotted-head fasteners on the right edge of the VFD panel fully counterclockwise.
