Retention Strip Replacement
Power turned off and Lockout Procedure followed
Lower re-feed roller removed
Screws (C) removed and edging slid out through the top of the track (B) without catching on photoeyes
New retention strip slid into track without catching on photoeyes and holes aligned with photoeyes
NOTE: Per the top view (A), orient the longer leg of the 'J' toward the lower track and the groove away from the track.
Strip fastened with screws (C) at the bottom of track without screwing strip to lower track, other than at the bottom
Sign off on the retention strip replacement
Drive Sphere Replacement
Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!
Type of adhesive used for the procedure
Adhesive applied to curtain edge drive sphere stud?
Adhesive applied to stud before tightening?
Adhesive oozed out both sides after stud is tightened?
Enter the time taken for adhesive to dry
Enter the torque applied
Sign off on the drive sphere replacement
Photoeye Adjustment
Warning: Do not change the location of photoeyes. They must be at 18in [457mm] and 54in [1372mm].
Is the receiver photoeye (A) located on the drive side lower track?
Is the orange LED (B) on when the output is energized?
Is the green LED (C) blinking?
If the green LED (C) is blinking, either the photoeye is out of alignment or the short circuit protection of the photoeye has been triggered.
Does the source photoeye on the non‑drive lower track only have the green LED for power?
Sign off on the photoeye adjustment
1 Monthly Operation Verification
Warning: Only Rite‑Hite authorized service technicians should change the programming.
NOTE: Advise pedestrians to use man doors if present and not to lean into the door way.
Open the control box and look at the row of (X) green Input LEDs on the i‑COMM 3 and the label to verify proper state.
Check and remedy: Pillow block bearing set screws tightened to 66 to 80in/lb [7.5Nm].
Check and remedy: Wires are connected for the photoeyes.
Check and remedy: All loose wires are secured away from moving parts.
With the power on, press the “OPEN” button, the door should open and close automatically after a short delay.
Operate and observe the door opening to make sure that it fully opens. Observe the closing action to make sure that the door operates smoothly, and fully closes without excessive curtain ripple. Black edging of curtain should not impact the floor.
While the door is closing, block the reversing photoeyes. The door should reverse direction, move to the open position, and continue to operate.
6 Monthly High Speed Door Maintenance
Curtain fans are powered and working
Curtain fans are positioned properly and are removing condensation from the curtain
Auto re-feed is operational
Curtain inspected for wear or damage
Upload a photo of the patched curtain
Drive spheres checked and replaced if missing or damaged
Top roller checked
Perimeter Seal (FR) is free of tears and providing an adequate seal against curtain and the wall
