Enter the weight stamped on the battery

Does the weight fall within the minimum and maximum allowable weights?

Inspect all battery connectors and leads for damage and cuts in protective coatings

Are the battery gates in position and not damaged?

Enter the battery's free play in inches

Is the battery's free play no more than 0.5 inch?

Sign off on the battery maintenance

Traveling at 2 to 3 mph (3.2 to 4.8 km/h) empty, does the pallet truck stop within 2 to 4 feet (0.6 to 1.2 m) when the brake is applied?

During normal operation, with a rated load and traveling at top speed, does the pallet truck stop within approximately one and one-half truck lengths?

Are there signs of oil on the pads or rotor?

If oil is present, disassemble brake and clean the rotor and pads.

Does the pad gap exceed 0.015 in. (.38 mm)?

Failure to keep brakes adjusted causes premature pad and rotor wear and excessive motor heat.

Examine for bond failure, chunking, and excessive or uneven wear

Inspect bearings for binding or excessive play

Check adjustment of caster wheels

Upload a photo of the caster wheels

Sign off on the caster wheels maintenance

Warning: Ensure the truck is OFF and the battery is disconnected before starting the procedure.

Inspect contactor tips for burnt or pitted surfaces.

Failure to replace the tips may prevent the contactor from opening or closing, causing unscheduled downtime.

Check the plunger for smooth operation with no binding.

If binding occurs, the pallet truck may malfunction or exhibit intermittent fault codes.

Lift/lower function is smooth and controllable

Travel function is smooth and responsive thru full range of acceleration and braking
