Ensure operating temperature is up to 80 °C

Use protective equipment to prevent burns

Place a collection vessel under the oil drain screw or the oil drain tap

Screw out the oil level screw (if present) and the oil drain screw

Screw out the screw plug with dipstick if using an oil reservoir tank

Completely drain the oil from the gear unit

Ensure the gear unit is at a standstill and has cooled down

Provide protection against accidental activation

Is the oil temperature between 10 °C to 40 °C?

Oil Level Check for Gear Units with Oil Level Screw

Unscrew the oil level screw corresponding to the mounting position

Did a small amount of oil escape during the first check?

Is the oil level at the lower edge of the oil level hole?

Adjust the oil level with the corresponding oil type if necessary

Ensure the machine is powered off and secured

Gather necessary tools and materials (including PETAMO GHY 133N grease)

Remove the old radial shaft seal

Check for any damage on the shaft surface

Clean the shaft surface thoroughly

Fill the space between the sealing lip and the protective lip with grease to approximately 50%

Perform visual inspection of the gear unit.

Inspect the rubber buffers for damage such as tears.

Inspect hoses for leaks, cuts, tears, porous areas, and chafing.

Check for unusual running noises.

Check and record the oil level.

Re-grease/remove excess grease for applicable options

Ensure the overhaul is carried out by a specialist workshop with suitable equipment

Verify personnel are qualified and aware of national regulations and laws

Completely dismantle the gear unit

Check all gear unit components for damage
