6 Monthly Belts Maintenance

Check mark

Belt Tension Check

Check mark

Is the belt tension set at the correct level?

Check mark

If the belt tension is too loose, the belt will slip and fail to transmit the rated power to the actuator. Conversely, if the belt tension is too tight, the service life of the belt and bearings will be shortened.

Check mark

Enter the force applied to the belt at the center of its span

Check mark

Enter the amount of belt deflection

Check mark

Does the belt deflect the specified amount when the specified force is applied?

Check mark

Check the belt tension 3 months after machine installation and after changing the belt. After that check it every 6 months.

1 Weekly Grease-Lubricating Pump Maintenance

Check mark

Warning: Always ensure to use the recommended grease and follow the instructions carefully to avoid machine trouble or performance degradation.

Check mark

Check the lubricating oil level in the reservoir

Check mark

Is the lower end of the follow-up plate inside the reservoir below the lower-limit level marked “– L –”?

Check mark

If yes, add grease slowly from the oiling port so that the upper-limit level marking is not exceeded.

Check mark

Adding grease

Check mark

Choose the type of grease gun used

Check mark

Adding grease using a cartridge-type grease gun

Check mark

Is the specified cartridge attached to the grease gun?

Check mark

Is the grease gun charged with the specified grease?

Front door glass Replacement

Check mark

Before operating the machine, be absolutely certain to check that the front door glass surface is free from damage such as flaws. If even a slight flaw is found, stop the machine and replace the glass.

Check mark

(When ordering a replacement glass from Mazak Technical Center or Technology Center, refer to the table above and specify the part number.)

Check mark

The window in the operator door is critical to the safety of the operator and is designed to withstand impact from ejected chuck jaws or workpieces.

Check mark

Polycarbonate, the material most commonly used in vision panels, is subject to embrittlement if exposed to cutting fluids. The window used on this machine uses a fully sealed polycarbonate construction, comprising polycarbonate panel protected by laminated layers of glass and plastic.

Check mark

The window conforms to the requirements of EN12415.

Check mark

1). Window replacement

Check mark

If the operator safety window shows any signs of damage, and cutting fluids can reach the surface of the polycarbonate, then the window unit should be replaced as its safety properties could be significantly reduced.

Check mark

The window unit must be replaced with a fully sealed polycarbonate window unit obtained from MAZAK (refer to table above or Mechanical Parts List).

Check mark

!CAUTION: The Power supply and the air supply should be isolated from the machine before carrying out the following assembly procedure.

1 Monthly Secondary Headstock Cooling Cleaning

Check mark

!CAUTION:

Check mark

! Before remounting the filter, be sure to allow it to dry well.

Check mark

! Be absolutely certain to operate the machine with the filter mounted and clean the filter about once a month. (The interval for cleaning varies according to the circumferential conditions.) Otherwise, spindle motor damage may result.

Check mark

Cleaning the filter

Check mark

When the filter is dirty, remove it and wash it lightly in clean water.

Check mark

The procedure is as follows:

Check mark

(1) Remove the filter cover.

Check mark

(2) Remove the filter.
