Drill hole diameter (in inches)

Tap 1/4” holes to 5/16” thread with the 5/16” hole tap

Screw the puller arms into the tapped holes full depth of threads

Ensure all setscrews in hub are fully removed

Work puller slowly to back wheel off the shaft

Inspect and adjust as necessary

Is the fan operating at any speed?

Is the temperature below -30°F?

Consult factory for greasing interval.

Are there any specialized lubrication instructions on the fan labels?

Select the type of lubricant used

Ensure the lubricant is compatible with the installation.

Lubricate the bearing while the fan is in operation.

Bearing Removal and Preparation

Remove any burrs from the shaft by sanding

Slide new bearings onto the shaft to the desired location and loosely mount bearings onto the bearing support

Ensure bearing bolts and setscrews are loose enough to allow shaft positioning

Tighten the bearing bolts securely to the bearing support

Ensure the following conditions are met before lubrication

Verify that fan bearings are prelubricated

Are there any specialized lubrication instructions on fan labels?

If specialized instructions exist, follow them instead of the general procedure

Use NLGI #2 grease for lubrication

Is the fan in operation during lubrication?

Pump grease slowly until a slight bead forms around the bearing seals
