Are there any specialized lubrication instructions on the fan labels?

Is the fan in operation during lubrication?

Pump grease slowly until a slight bead forms around the bearing seals

Number of grease injections used with hand operated grease gun

Establish a schedule for inspecting all parts of the fan

Inspection for Corrosive or Contaminated Air

Is the fan exhausting corrosive or contaminated air?

Inspect fans exhausting corrosive or contaminated air within the first month of operation

Verify that the ACSC fan is not used to exhaust corrosive or contaminated air

Verify fan operating conditions

Consult factory for greasing interval

Lubricate bearing while fan is in operation

Pump grease slowly until a slight bead forms around the bearing seals

Use no more than three injections with a hand operated grease gun if bearing cannot be seen

Ensure the fan is turned off and isolated from power source.

Gather necessary tools for adjustment.

Loosen motor plate adjustment bolts and slide motor plate so that belts easily slip into the grooves on the pulleys.

Slide motor plate until proper tension is reached with a deflection of approximately 1/4” per foot of center distance.

Lock the motor plate adjustment bolts in place.

Ensure pulleys are properly aligned.

Are lubrication instructions on the motor nameplate?

Is the motor provided with prelubricated bearings?

Does the motor have provisions for relubrication?

Disassemble and lubricate bearings if necessary

Use compatible grease for lubrication
