Establish a schedule for inspecting all parts of the fan

Inspection for Corrosive or Contaminated Air

Is the fan exhausting corrosive or contaminated air?

Inspect fan for signs of corrosion or contamination

Verify that the ACSC fan is used for general ventilation only

Is the ACSC fan UL listed for Smoke Control Systems?

Inspect and adjust as necessary

Inspect and adjust as necessary

Drill two holes with 1/4” diameter

Screw the puller arms into the tapped holes full depth of threads (3/8” to 1/2” approximately)

Align center of puller with center of shaft

Ensure all setscrews in hub are fully removed

Bearing Removal and Preparation

Remove any burrs from the shaft by sanding

Slide new bearings onto the shaft to the desired location and loosely mount bearings onto the bearing support

Ensure bearing bolts and setscrews are loose enough to allow shaft positioning

Tighten the bearing bolts securely to the bearing support

Are there lubrication instructions on the motor nameplate that supersede these instructions?

Bearing Inspection and Lubrication

Are the motor bearings provided with provisions for relubrication?

Is the motor operating under severe conditions (high temperatures or excessive contaminants)?

Disassemble and inspect the bearings if operating under severe conditions or after 3 years of operation.

Lubricate the bearings with compatible grease (Exxon Mobil Polyrex EM or Chevron SRI).
