Are lubrication instructions on the motor nameplate different from the standard instructions?

Inspect motor bearings for relubrication provisions

Is the motor operating under severe conditions?

Use polyurea mineral oil NGLI #2 grease for lubrication

Select compatible grease for motor bearings

Record the current RPM of the fan

Record the current temperature in °F

Are there any specialized lubrication instructions on the fan labels?

Ensure the use of NLGI #2 grease

Is the fan in operation during lubrication?

Pump grease slowly until a slight bead forms around the bearing seals

Is the bearing visible during lubrication?

Inspect motor nameplate for lubrication instructions

Determine if motor bearings have provisions for relubrication

Check for severe application conditions

Select lubrication interval based on service conditions

Select compatible grease for lubrication

Lubricate motor bearings with selected grease

Inspect, clean, or repair motor bearings as needed

Are there any specialized lubrication instructions on the fan labels?

Ensure the fan is in operation before lubricating

Is the bearing visible during lubrication?

Pump grease slowly until a slight bead forms around the bearing seals

If the bearing is not visible, use no more than three injections with a hand-operated grease gun

Loosen motor plate adjustment bolts

Slide motor plate so that belts easily slip into the grooves on the pulleys

Measure the center distance between pulleys (in feet)

Calculate the required belt deflection (1/4” per foot of center distance)

Measure the actual belt deflection

Is the belt deflection within the required range?
