Fan Bearing Replacement
Bearing Removal and Preparation
Remove the old bearing
Remove any burrs from the shaft by sanding
New Bearing Installation
Slide new bearings onto the shaft to the desired location and loosely mount bearings onto the bearing support
Ensure bearing bolts and setscrews are loose enough to allow shaft positioning
Bearing and Wheel Positioning
Correctly position the wheel
Tighten the bearing bolts securely to the bearing support
Centrifugal Exhauster Belt Tension Adjustment
Belt Tension Adjustment
Loosen motor plate adjustment bolts and slide motor plate so that belts easily slip into the grooves on the pulleys.
Slide motor plate until proper tension is reached, ensuring a deflection of approximately 1/4” per foot of center distance.
Lock the motor plate adjustment bolts in place.
Ensure pulleys are properly aligned.
Verify the following conditions after adjustment

Is the belt tension within the acceptable range?
Describe any issues encountered during the adjustment process.

Lubrication Process
Centrifugal Exhauster Wheel Replacement
Drilling Holes
Drill two holes with 1/4” diameter
Drill holes 3/8” to 1/2” deep
Tapping Holes
Tap 1/4” holes to 5/16” thread
Using the Puller
Prepare for puller use
Work puller slowly to back wheel off the shaft
Specify the puller used
3 Monthly Motor Bearings Lubrication
Verify NEMA Frame Size
Check RPM is over 1800
Inspect motor nameplate for lubrication instructions
Determine if motor bearings have provisions for relubrication
Check for severe application conditions
Select grease for lubrication
Lubricate motor bearings with selected grease
Inspect, clean, or repair bearings as needed
Reduce lubrication interval for vertical shaft installations
