Inspect and adjust as necessary

Adjust and tighten belt if necessary

Establish a schedule for inspecting all parts of the fan

Inspection for Corrosive or Contaminated Air

Is the fan exhausting corrosive or contaminated air?

Inspect fans exhausting corrosive or contaminated air within the first month of operation

Verify that the ACSC fan is used for general ventilation only

Remove any burrs from the shaft by sanding

Slide new bearings onto the shaft to the desired location and loosely mount bearings onto the bearing support

Ensure bearing bolts and setscrews are loose enough to allow shaft positioning

Bearing Positioning and Securing

Correctly position the wheel and tighten the bearing bolts securely to the bearing support

Align setscrews bearing to bearing and secure tightly to the shaft

Check for lubrication instructions on the motor nameplate

Is the motor bearing provided with provisions for relubrication?

Determine lubrication interval based on service conditions

Disassemble motor bearings for lubrication

Use compatible grease for lubrication

Check for specialized lubrication instructions on fan labels

Is the fan in operation during lubrication?

Pump grease slowly until a slight bead forms around the bearing seals

Number of grease injections with hand operated grease gun (if bearing cannot be seen)
