Review guidelines for hoist chains

Verify compliance with regulations

Press the hold down (3) out using a screwdriver

Perform visual check of the entire equipment

Does the brake stop the load after approx. two chain braking link lengths during the lowering process?

Is the load stopped in a jerking manner?

Perform visual check for wear of the rubber elements

Safety Latch and Hook Inspection

Check condition of the following components

Perform function check of the lift limiter

Chain Bag and Positioning Check

Check the condition of the chain bag

Ensure safe positioning of the chain bag

Check if the brake stops the load after approx. two chain braking link lengths in a jerking manner.

Check all screws, hold down, chain guide, twisted chain, and safety devices

Check the condition of the electric cable, power cable, and pendant control

Check the condition of the trolleys and wheels.

Ensure continuous monitoring of the load chain according to DIN 685 section 5 and DGUV V54 (BGV D8), § 27.

Has the load chain been tested before starting operation?

Inspect the load chain for the following issues

Measure the nominal thickness at the points of contact (in mm)

Is the nominal thickness reduced by 10%?

Measure the elongation of a single chain link (in %)

Is a single chain link elongated by 5%?
