Perform function check of the lift limiter

Chain Bag Condition and Positioning

Check the condition of the chain bag

Ensure safe positioning of the chain bag

Inspect hooks for deformation and cracks

Is the chain sprocket in the hook block worn by about 1 mm?

Measuring Wear and Replacing Load Hook

Measure length between chisel punch marks (dimension Y)

Is the length between chisel punch marks widened more than 10%?

Refer to hook certificate in the inspection book for permissible values

Ensure the load chain is clean and free from debris

Is the load chain from the original manufacturer?

Inspect the load chain for the following issues

Measure the nominal thickness at points of contact (in mm)

Is the nominal thickness reduced by 10% or more?

Measure the elongation of a single chain link (in %)

Is the chain or a link elongated by 5% or more?

Adjustment of the Sliding Clutch

Ensure only a trained or competent person performs the adjustment

Apply the test load (1.1 times the nominal/rated load) onto the load hook or clutch testing device

Check if the test load can be lifted or if the clutch testing device shows approximately 1.3 times the nominal load

Lower the test load to the floor

Adjust clutch torque until the test load is just lifted or the clutch testing device shows the required value

Loosen and remove the cap for gear cover (12) Fig.27

Use a spanner to hold the retaining self-locking nut (11) Fig.27

Perform visual check of the entire equipment

Inspect wear of the rubber elements

Does the brake stop the load after approx. two chain braking link lengths during the lowering process?

Is the load stopped in a jerking manner?

Safety Latch and Hook Inspection

Check condition of safety latch

Inspect condition of the pin securing the hook nut
