1 Yearly Clutch Maintenance
Adjustment of the Sliding Clutch
Is the adjustment being carried out by a trained or competent person?
Apply the test load (1.1 times the nominal/rated load) onto the load hook or clutch testing device.
Switch on the chain hoist and check if the test load can be lifted or if the clutch testing device shows approximately 1.3 times the nominal load.
Lower the test load to the floor.
Decrease or increase clutch torque until the test load is just lifted or the clutch testing device shows the required value.
Recheck the clutch torque by lifting the test load.
Record the adjusting value in the inspection book of the electric chain hoist.
Adjust the Clutch Torque
200 Hourly Load Chain Wear Test
Pre-Operation Inspection
Ensure continuous monitoring of the load chain according to DIN 685 section 5 and DGUV V54 (BGV D8), § 27.
Has the load chain been tested before starting operation?
Load Chain Wear Test
Check the load chain links for the following issues
Measure the nominal thickness at the points of contact
Is the nominal thickness reduced by 10%?
Measure the elongation of a single chain or link
Is the chain or a link elongated by 5%?
1 Yearly Electric Chain Hoist Check
Brake Check
Check if the brake stops the load after approx. two chain braking link lengths in a jerking manner.
Universal Checks
Check all screws, hold down, chain guide, twisted chain, and safety devices
Cable and Control Check
Check the condition of the electric cable, power cable, and pendant control
Trolleys and Wheels Check
Check the condition of the trolleys and wheels
3 Monthly Load Chain Lubrication
Initial Lubrication
Lubricate the load chain with penetrating gear lubricant oil before starting operation for the first time.
Lubrication During Operation
Lubricate the load chain with penetrating gear lubricant oil during operation with no load.
Subsequent Lubrication
Clean the links of the load chain before subsequent lubrication.
Select the type of dry-film lubricant to use when ambient influences are conducive to wear
Frequency and Conditions
Describe the frequency of use and operating conditions affecting lubrication needs.
3 Monthly Electric Chain Hoist Check
Lift Limiter Function Check
Verify the function of the lift limiter
Load Chain Inspection
Inspect the wear of the load chain
Chain Bag and Positioning Check
Check the condition of the chain bag
Ensure safe positioning of the chain bag
