AEB8 Testing
Attach a printer to the Controller or ensure the Controller is attached to a Host PC
Power the system up by connecting the AC power and then the standby battery
Verify the system self-test results on the local printer under the Configurations section
Check Expansion Inputs for correct number based on AEB8s installed
Verify controller version compatibility
Check the Options section for the correct AEB8-N line
Request Max Users and Options information using Command 88*2 from the ScramblePad or Host PC software
If the correct information doesn’t appear, power down the Controller and recheck the EBIC connections, then retry the test procedure
Power down the Controller
Controller SNIB / SNIB2 / SNIB3 Replacement
Preparation
Is the controller's CCM firmware version 7.5.37 or later?
Update the CCM firmware if necessary.
Power Down the Controller
Disconnect the battery backup power from the controller.
Disconnect the AC power cables to the controller.
Disconnect Existing SNIB or SNIB2
Disconnect the cables and wires attached to the existing SNIB or SNIB2 board
Remove Existing SNIB or SNIB2
ScramblePad Testing
Request Status Check
Press START * # to request a status check from the ScramblePad.
Request Specific Relay and Line Module Input Status
Enter the door relay/line module input number (1 - 8) to request specific status.
Press START * [door relay/line module input] # to request the status.
Read Status Reports
Read the status from the ScramblePad LEDs as per Table 7-13.

CCM Replacement
Preparation
Ground yourself by touching the controller enclosure or power supply
Turn off all controller system power by removing connectors for both AC power and the standby battery
Disconnect the DC battery
Disconnect the main power to the controller
Remove the AC fuse located on the power supply
Old CCM Removal
Locate the CCM
Remove the screws anchoring the CCM circuit board
Mx Controller Memory Battery Replacement
Order replacement memory battery
Receive new memory battery and gather tools
Open Mx controller’s enclosure and locate existing memory battery
Unplug memory battery connector from BAT1
Cut and remove existing cable tie
Replace old memory battery and plug in new one at BAT1
Secure new memory battery with a cable tie
Close the Mx controller’s enclosure
Check for 'Memory Battery Failure' and 'Memory Battery Restored' events in Alarm Viewer
