Air Valve & Seals Maintenance
Disassemble the Air Valve
Perform steps 1-3 under Replace Complete Air Valve
Use a T10 Torx screwdriver to remove two screws
Remove the valve plate and cup assembly
Pull the cup off of the base
Remove the o-ring from the cup
Remove the retaining ring from each end of the air valve
Use the piston to push the end cap out of one end
Remove the u-cup seal from the piston
Diaphragm and Center Section Repair
NOTE: Diaphragm kits are available in a range of materials and styles.
Disassemble the Diaphragm and Center Section
Followed the Pressure Relief Procedure?
Shut off the air supply to the pump?
Opened the dispensing valve?
Opened the fluid drain valve to relieve fluid pressure?
Removed the manifolds and disassembled the ball check valves?
Removed the fluid cover bolts?
Removed the diaphragm?
Check Valve Repair
NOTE: Kits are available for new check valve balls and seats in a range of materials. O-ring and fastener kits also are available.
NOTE: To ensure proper seating of the check balls, always replace the seats when replacing the balls. Also, replace the o-rings every time the manifold is removed.
Followed the Pressure Relief Procedure
Air supply to the pump shut off
Opened the dispensing valve
Opened the fluid drain valve to relieve fluid pressure
All hoses disconnected
Pump removed from its mounting
Manifold fasteners removed using a 17 mm (11/16 in) socket wrench
Air Valve Replacement
Shut off the air supply to the pump
Open the dispensing valve
Open the fluid drain valve and catch the drainage
Disconnect the air line to the motor
Remove the air valve and gasket
Align the new air valve gasket on the center housing
Attach the new air valve
Reconnect the air line to the motor
Sign off on the air valve replacement
