Inspect valve for external damage

Ensure the system is depressurized

Drain the system before installing or maintaining the valve

Confirm that all safety measures are in place to prevent product damage, property damage, personal injury, or death

3.1 Replacing Valve Disc and/or Liner and Seals

Ensure safety precautions are followed

Read the relevant sections to familiarize with the valve

Reference section 6 for identification of parts

Remove the gland using an extra deep socket

Remove the upper bearing from the stem

Check flange bolts for correct torque periodically

Retighten nuts after initial system start-up if necessary

Refer to Table 1 for recommended flange bolt torques

Uniformly tighten nut to approximately 8 ft*lbf (10.8 N*m) using a torque wrench

Continue alternating tightening until recommended flange bolt torque is achieved

Verify proper tightening sequence molded into the valve body

Check for proper valve operation

If leaks or improper operation are detected, refer to troubleshooting guide

Depressurize and drain system before maintenance
